Hillary Clinton Victim Of Nigerian Prince Email Scam

Hillary

Former American Secretary of State and presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton is $80 000 out of pocket after falling victim to a 419 email scam, often referred to as a Nigerian Prince scam.

In August 2011, the then Secretary of State received an email from a “Yacouba Maru” purporting to be the accountant to a terminally ill and philanthropic member of the Nigerian family. The ailing prince purportedly deemed Secretary Clinton to be a suitably virtuous individual to inherit his amassed fortune and as such for the humble transaction fee of $100 American, the Prince was prepared to transfer his wealth to Secretary Clinton’s account.

Over a period of seven months Mr Maru claimed to have encountered a seemingly never ending string of administrative delays and put in requests for financial assistance to Secretary Clinton which were to be repaid in full once the transactional errors were overcome. By the time the disingenuous nature of Mr Maru, (or Stephen Fisher aged 33 from Waco Texas as he is better known to  his friends and family) was discovered, Secretary Clinton had already transferred $80 000 to his account and was preparing to transfer another $25 000.

419 email scams are easily detected and screened by the United States state of the art email security network however Secretary Clinton had been corresponding with Mr Maru/Fisher using an undisclosed private email server she had set up because she was unaware it was possible to operate two email accounts on the same mobile device. Secretary Clinton declined to comment on whether a senior government official could simply ask for a second email account to be created which used a secure government server.
