Turnbull To Model Calvin Klein Underwear

The Abbott government’s communications minister, Malcolm Turnbull, has updated the Register of Members’ Interests to include his recent work in fashion shoots.

The federal member for Wentworth had a varied career prior to entering politics, including law, banking and running errands for Kerry Packer. In his spare time he invented the internet, but this is his first foray into fashion.

Often regarded as one of parliament’s snappy dressers, Turnbull has modeled leather jackets on television and has appeared on the covers of many business and foreign policy journals over the years. However, it wasn’t until he appeared on the cover of GQ magazine that he received interest from fashion houses, including the designer denim giant.

Calvin Klein Inc’s chief marketing officer Melisa Goldie said: “Malcolm’s global recognition, expressed affinity for the brand, and powerful persona bring a compelling energy to our jeans and underwear brands.”

Turnbull says the contract will not have any effect on his main duties as a cabinet minister and he is delighted to be a part of the brand’s family.

“Calvin Klein is such an iconic brand and I am excited and honoured to become a part of the Calvin Klein brand legacy with this campaign,” he said. “I have been a longtime fan of the brand and have worn their jeans and underwear for a while, so this is kind of a dream come true.”
