The leader of her majesties most loyal opposition, Ed Miliband, will attempt to recreate the viral success of his unveiling of a cenotaph by holding a last ditch election rally at a crematorium in Surrey.
On Sunday, Miliband posed gave a press conference in front of an eight foot slab of cement, which strongly resembled a funereal monument with the text of his election manifesto carved into it.
Labour staffer John McTernan, who briefly worked for Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, described the social media reaction to press as “beyond anything we could have possibly expected.”
“Every you looked people were retweeting it, they were creating their own versions of it, I hadn’t seen social media embrace a political message so enthusiastically since Craig Emerson’s ‘No Whyalla Wipeout’ in 2012.”
Inspired by the success of the cenotaph press conference, Miliband plans to harness the power of social media one more time with his rally at a crematorium.
“It’s about thinking outside of the box” Miliband told The (un) Australian. “This election is about doing this differently. Why has nobody ever held a rally at a crematorium before? I’m very excited about being to answer this question at long last.”
