The overnight execution of eight heroin smugglers has caused Indonesia’s heroin problem to instantly disappear.
“Up until yesterday this place was just crawling with junkies but now they’re all gone”, said ABC Jakarta reporter Helen Winthrop. “I give top marks to whoever it was who thought up the idea of the death penalty.”
Having seen how effective the executions were at completely making the whole heroin problem go away, Indonesian officials are now turning their attention to using the death penalty to solve the country’s crippling overdue library book problem.
