The team in charge of designing the Australian Olympic team’s uniforms has been revealed as the team commissioned by the Government to develop the new Australian $5 note.
A spokesperson for the government explained the decision, saying: “We thought long and hard about who to commission to design the note then we thought about the Olympics and hence the answer to our problem. I mean every time the Olympic uniform is revealed it always gets reactions like, ‘Wow’ and ‘Pinstripes?’”
Talking to The (un)Australian, designer Vivian I. Sore explained their approach to the design, “We wanted a reaction, we threw some stuff against the wall and whatever hit the note is what we used.”
The new $5 note will be released later this year, just in time to use it to buy a sausage at an election day sausage sizzle, where you can express your thoughts on the note via the ballot box.
