Nation’s Employees Practice Their Best Sick Voice For Morning Call To Boss

With the Anzac Day public holiday scheduled for Tuesday, Australian employees who forgot to book in Monday as a day off have spent the weekend working on their best sick voice in preparation for their morning call to the boss.

”It would be so much easier if we could just text or email, but our boss insists on a call,” said Petersham-based data analyst Lana Spreadsheet. ”I could always tell him I have gastro, but I really don’t want him thinking about me being on the toilet.”

”Will just have to go with a few fake coughs and a weak voice.”

When reached for comment on his employees expected sick day call, Lana’s boss said: ”Yeah, I wasn’t really expecting her or anyone to come in, really.”

”It’s nice that she puts in the effort to try and sound sick, but it would help her cause better if she didn’t post about what she was doing on insta.”

”Anyway, her call will go straight to my voicemail, as I also rang in sick. Found a photo on my phone of an old positive Covid test.”
