Following the deaths of notorious Australians, John Laws and Graham ‘Richo’ Richardson, the nation’s bookies have opened up the market on which prominent Australian will be next. The market is framed on events always happening in threes.
”After the Spring Carnival there is always a bit of a gambling lull before the cricket starts up so these deaths have really fallen at a fortunate time,” said a Spokesperson for the Bookies. ”It’s a really wide open field as well, there’s a lot of money out there on Howard.”
”But, Australia is full of cashed up boomers, so who knows.”
When asked if it was macabre to be gambling on people dying, the Spokesperson said: ”We bet on horses surviving a race, what’s the difference?”
”Besides, it’s not like those that die will be complaining.”
”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go see a man about a dog race.”
