Bloke Who Walked City-To-Surf Proudly Wears His Medal To Work

44 year old Accounts payable officer Mark James has proudly strode into his office wearing his city-to-surf medal, after taking three and a half hours to complete the race yesterday, allowing for a 20 minute stop for a beer at Bondi golf club.

”He does this every year after the city-to-surf,” said Mark’s long suffering colleague Wendy. ”Dude is so proud to have completed the race, doesn’t even occur to him that most of the office did as well and we all ran it.”

”Am pretty sure if adults could still do the MS read-a-thon Mark would have a stack of books at his desk and a tip jar.”

When asked why he was so proud of his achievement and what the reaction had been in the office, Mark said: ”There’s almost 26 million people in Australia and only 80,000 of them do the city-to-surf, that means I’m amongst the upper 30% of the population.”

”I always knew I was special.”

”Pity I chose Monday to wear the medal in as most people work from home on a Monday, maybe I’ll try again on Wednesday. We have an all staff meeting that day.”
