Dutton Tells Colleagues To Cool The Chat On Abortion Till After They Win The Election

Opposition leader, Peter Dutton, has issued a directive to all his underlings to stop talking about criminalising abortion until after they win the next election.

”Though banning abortion is very popular in America and to some elements of the base, Pete knows that it is a little too divisive in Australia to ramp it up as an issue,” said a Liberal party insider. ”Sure, turning the Handmaid’s Tale into a draft policy for Women would definitely deliver us Northern Queensland it may not play well in the Teal seats.”

”Oh well, see how they are going this time next year.”

When asked why the Opposition leader had yet to speak on abortion, instead sending out his colleagues Hume, Lay and Canavan (yep), the Liberal party insider said: ”Pete’s a very busy man, you don’t think Gina Rinehart’s lawn mows itself now do you.”

”Besides, Pete will be out and about this week visiting schools to reinforce the importance of division.”

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to book Senator Price a study trip to Siberia.”
