Radio broadcaster and motor oil salesman John “Golden Tonsils” Laws has stunned the nation as it’s been revealed that he is still alive and on radio. Laws made headlines after an interview on Friday with Australia’s newest candidate for Sainthood, Tim Cahill, went awry.
Long term radio listener and self-funded retiree Berryl from Caringbah told The (un)Australian of her shock saying, “I thought John had died years ago, yet there I am reading the paper and listening to Alan Jones when my neighbour Russell came in and told me to change the frequency as Lawsy was on.
“At first I thought he was trying to wind me up as Russell is a cheeky bugger. Last week, he told me that Mr Turnbull could be prime minister again andI had a good chuckle at that, but low and behold I changed the channel and John was on. I was shocked, and a bit chuffed.”
The interview with Cahill ended when the football star hung up on Laws after the veteran radio star continued to ask Cahill about his salary and questioned him on the legitimacy of the Socceroo’s being Champions of all Asia.
When reached for comment Mr Laws replied, “Valvoline, you know what I mean.”
