Netflix Australia has sent Channel 10 a gift basket to thank them for signing two of Australia’s most despised figures, Sam Dastyari and Kyle Sandilands which has resulted in a surge of new subscribers to the online streaming service.
“Channel 10 signing those two is the greatest piece of free advertising we have ever received,” said a Netflix Spokesperson. “I mean who in their right mind would think Shanghai Sam and Vile Kyle are suited to being televised. They’re as about as appealing to the general public as a Clive Palmer bikini shoot.”
When reached for comment a Channel 10 Spokesperson said of the signings: “With Dastyari it is not about viewers as it’s more about sponsors, he brings in a lot of Chinese dollars. As for Kyle well he will at least ensure that everyone at standards and practices is watching the show.”
To commemorate Kyle Sandilands and Sam Dastyari’s Channel 10 debut, Harvey Norman is offering a special ‘10% off all TV’s’ deal to anyone who throws a brick through their television whilst watching either of the two aforementioned shows.
