Footwear giant Nike have proudly signed the entire Canterbury Bulldogs rugby league team as the Australian face of their revitalised “Just Spew It” advertising campaign.
“We drew up the contracts as soon as we saw footage of several Bulldogs players taking a knee to get themselves closer to the ground to chuck their guts up,” said Nike Australia’s head of publicity Cheryl Midsole. “We want customers to associate Nike with defiance against the Police, and what better way to show that than by outrunning the cops wearing a pair of our runners whilst doing a nudie run.”
The move has sparked controversy, with former player Todd Carney allegedly burning his Nike socks in protest.
“None of those guys have as much as pissed into someone else’s mouth let alone their own,” said a disgusted Carney. “When did Nike become so soft?”
Meanwhile AFL star Ben Cousins has been signed up by Dunlop Volleys to become the face of their “Just Blew It” campaign.
