NRL fans are being urged to protest the decision to remove the national anthem from the soon to be held State of Origin series by taking a knee as the game starts.
”It’s a bloody outrage that they are not playing the Australian anthem before Queensland smashes the crap out of NSW in the State of Origin,” said a passionate QLD fan. ”I mean we fought in wars and stuff for that anthem, it’s just not right.”
When asked whether he thought it was ironic that protesting for the anthem by taking a knee when the anthem was removed due to the potential for players to take a knee, the passionate QLD fan said: ”Are you saying I’m moronic?”
”Mate I will go you, you don’t call me a moron for standing up for my country.”
”Rugby league is the heart and soul of this country, well parts of it. I know they play that aerial ping pong crap in Melbourne and Adelaide but that’s besides the point. Now what are we talking about again.”
Chairman of the Australian Rugby League Association Peter V’Landys could not be reached for comment as he was too busy taking pot shots at the AFL.
