Following Monday night’s 4 Corners report on James Packer’s Crown Casino, the NSW Government has called on the ABC to apologise and in a sign of good faith hand over their Ultimo headquarters to the Casino mogul.
Speaking to The (un)Australian a NSW government spokesperson spoke about Mr Packer, saying: “How dare the ABC question Mr Packer, he is a decent hard networking citizen. We think so highly of him we gave him a casino licence, no questions asked.”
“To make this right the ABC must hand over Ultimo and maybe they can base themselves out at Parramatta. Ultimo would be a great site for a third casino.”
NSW Opposition leader Luke Foley also spoke out in favour of Mr Packer, saying: “James Packer likes gambling and the gambling industry gives us so much, like greyhound racing, therefore I like James Packer.”
The ABC was unavailable for comment due to budget cutbacks.
