The Institute of Public Affairs has released a paper penned by Adjunct Fellow Walter Privilege that extols the merits of slavery, calling on the Government to consider instituting it.
“We as a society are very quick to rule things out as an option as it might hurt someone’s feelings or impinge on their freedom,” said Mr Privilege. “Slavery has a proven track record, I mean have you seen the pyramids, that wasn’t a union-ruled worksite.”
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull when asked whether his Government would consider slavery said: “That is ludicrous I will not even entertain that question.”
When told that the suggestion of a return to slavery was an IPA proposal the Prime Minister said: “Well we shouldn’t be so hasty to rule things in or out. I shall have a read of their paper and we may very well see slavery as a cornerstone of this Government.”
“Now if you’ll excuse me I’m off to shine a few shoes at the Minerals Council.”
