The UnOz’s 2024 Person Of The Year

The UnOz’s Person of the Year award is highly anticipated, with defamation lawyers everywhere especially keen to see the list.

What a year 2024 was. Donald Trump proved that a man of conviction(s) will always be the favoured choice of the American people. President-elect Trump won the US election defeating Kamala Harris, after Joe Biden pulled out of the race following frustration that the campaign would clash with nap time.

President Trump will move back into the White house with his first lady, Elon, err, Melania, in late January.

In sport the Penrith Panthers won their 4th NRL Premiership in a row, defeating the Melbourne Storm, whilst the Brisbane Lions won the AFL Premiership by forfeit, after the Sydney Swans decided to call in sick on the day.

Entertainment wise Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Era’s tour came to a triumphant end in Toronto, whilst P Diddy started his new tour, with a multi-year residency at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn.

Before we look forward to what 2025 has in store let us look back at who or what put their hand up in 2024 to be considered The UnOz’s person of the year.

Raygun

Rachel Gun, aka Raygun, reminded us that sometimes all you need to achieve your dreams is a sheet of cardboard, modern white privilege, a dose of the Dunning Kruger effect, John Howard’s old tracksuit and you’re off to Paris.

A professor in cultural studies, Gunn must’ve ‘shot through’ on the day of the lecture about cultural appropriation.

What’s next for Raygun? Will she dance in the jungle, or with the SAS? Here’s hoping she dances like nobody’s watching.

Alan Jones

He touched so many, allegedly.

King Charles

After waiting years to succeed his Mum, Queen Elizabeth II, the King has suffered a horror year, having had to battle cancer, his son Harry and endure a Royal visit to Australia that included a day spent in Parramatta.

Joe Rogan

The dude who used to host Fear Factor has morphed into the most influential media personality in the World. His interview with Donald Trump was seen as a pivotal moment in the US election.

ABC Australia chair, Kim Williams, was dismissive of Rogan, declaring that the Government owned channel did not need Rogan types with their controversy and ratings, as they (the ABC) had Costa, Speersy and tens of viewers.

Gina Rinehart

A big year for Western Australia’s most beloved billionaire. Gina splashed out to sponsor numerous Australian Olympic athletes and Coalition politicians.

Said Rinehart of Opposition leader Peter Dutton: ”He’s the best politician that money can buy.”

Ray Hadley

Peter Dutton’s preferred fluffer, radio-personality Ray Hadley, decided to retire this year. Holder of numerous radio ratings records Mr Hadley decided to go out on top, something Alan Jones is also alleged to have done.

On behalf of Team UnOz thank you for visiting the site and have a great festive season, we will be back in early January with the all the best news, analysis, and plagiarism. Unless of course Dutton or Trump do something stupid in which case we might chime in with a meme.

Thanks for reading.
