Scott Harrison, who was working as a political campaigner for the Liberal Party in Victoria, resigned after his recent links to white supremacist neo-Nazi groups was revealed in order to take up a senior position in the Immigration Department.
The party issued a statement saying they had been unaware of Harrison’s previous affiliations. They emphasised that they took immediate action when alerted by the media — and phoned immgiration minister Scott Morrison, who agreed Harrison’s experience and outlook as a white supremacist made him the perfect candidate to run Australia’s detention camps for asylum seekers.
