South Australian Senator Cory Bernardi has taken Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull out to dinner to break to him the news that their relationship is over. Telling the PM that: “It’s not you, it’s me.”
Speaking to The (un)Australian a despondent Mr Turnbull spoke of his relationship with Mr Bernardi, saying: “I’m the first to admit that Cory and my relationship has always been a bit rocky, but after his trip to the United States he changed.”
“It was Donald this and Donald that, rather than make out he wanted to make things great again. Then came the news that it was all over, I mean what more could he want? I was agile and innovative.”
Cory Bernardi took time out from his busy schedule of talking about himself to talk about himself with The (un)Australian, saying: “Malcolm needs to get over me and move on. I know I have. After all once you go orange you never go back.”
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has invited the remaining members of his cabinet around to his harbourside mansion for an ice cream and Bridget Jones movie marathon night.
