With the decommissioning of the COVIDSafe contact tracing app yesterday, the UnAustralian has spoken to former Federal Minister for Health and Rhyming Slang, Greg Hunt.
“The COVIDSafe app was a resounding success,” said Mr Hunt as he dropped off his CV at the head office of Harvey Norman. “Not one iPhone, Galaxy, tablet or smartwatch caught COVID during its use.”
Displaying the keen judgment the Liberal Party is renowned for, he kept talking.
“With Australia now staring down the barrel of a monkeypox outbreak, what is Anthony Albanese doing to protect our communication technology?”
Asked if the $21 million could have been put to more appropriate use, Mr Hunt patted the Harvey Norman reception desk and said “Oh, I don’t know, I think Gerry did pretty well out of the COVID response as it was. Hey, you don’t know where else I might look for a job, do you?”
When this reporter responded that spending a ton of cash on something of minimal interest would fit in at Channel 10, Mr Hunt frowned and left.
