Trump Assassination Attempt Leads Dutton To Demand Stronger Potato Peeler Control Laws

Australian Opposition leader, Peter Dutton, has taken time away from his little American Vacation to lecture the Australian media on the need for the country to look at greater potato peeler control laws.

”We live in a country that is mostly free of guns and where politicians are free to wander out around with the people,” said the Opposition leader. ”People aren’t afraid, and they need to be.”

”So, I’m calling on the Prime Minister to stop being weak and take some action when it comes to deadly weapons like potato peelers.”

When asked if given the assassination attempt on Trump it was time for the political temperature to be turned down, the Opposition leader said: ”Absolutely, the press and the Albanese Government need to step back and stop asking questions of me or my policies.”

”Next time I am giving a speech or riffing on nuclear power the press should try clapping, or nodding sagely.”

”Instead of asking inane questions like, how much will it cost, where will they go and does Gina approve?”

”Of course she does! Sorry I got a bit worked up there, I might head off to strangle a puppy or two to calm down, if you’ll excuse me.”
