An urgent inquiry has been called in to security at Canberra’s Parliament house after King Charles’ visit was marred by former PM, Tony Abbott, getting within knighting distance of his majesty.
”We nearly had a disaster on our hands what with Tony getting within knighting distance of the King,” said a Spokesperson for the Australian Federal Police. ”He has form having once demoted a Prince to a Knight.”
”God knows what would have happened if he managed to demote the King.”
When asked how security managed in the end to prevent the disaster, the Spokesperson for the Australian Federal Police said: ”We got lucky that Senator Thorpe saw what was happening and helped us by providing a distraction.”
‘The monarchy does owe Senator Thorpe it’s gratitude.”
”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must be off as the King is still in the country and Tony Abbott is still on the loose.”
