The Opposition’s shadow minister for Home Affairs, Andrew Hastie, has taken some time out of his day, which was definitely not spent on the phone talking numbers, to tell the press that he is ambitious for his leader Sussan Ley.
”Sussan is my leader and I’m ambitious for her,” said the member for Canning. ”I want Sussan to go down in history as one of the best Opposition leaders in history.”
”Someone who will lead the Opposition out of the wilderness and help the next male leader become PM.”
When asked if his words were designed to spark memories of former PM, Scott Morrison’s stalking of Malcom Turnbull, the member for Canning said: ”Mere coincidence, I never aspire to be a ScoMo.”
”Although Angus would make a good Dutton, maybe I could convince him to challenge Sussan which would allow me to slip in the back door.”
”That was a metaphor by the way, I want to assure the base that I don’t condone any back door activity.”
