Facebook Group of Homophobic Rainbow Enthusiasts Doubly Offended

A Facebook group of homophobic rainbow enthusiasts are up in arms over the rainbow filter trend and are claiming to be twice as offended as regular homophobes. Homophobes the world over are experiencing high levels of anxiety and stress as a direct result of the landmark decision by Supreme Court to legalise gay marriage in all 50 US states.

That stress has been exacerbated as many marriage equality supporters celebrate the decision by using the rainbow filter on Facebook. The filter was released to demonstrate the tech giant’s own support for the historic ruling.

Straight Rainbow Alliance (SRA) spokesperson Terence Higgins told The (un)Australian: “The rainbow is a wonder of nature and the gays have co-opted its image unfairly, we are petitioning Facebook to only allow the filter if people are able to answer a short series of questions confirming that they are a straight rainbow enthusiast.”

The SRA’s proposed questions are:

  • Rainbows are the result of the reflective dispersal of the light spectrum through raindrops. True or False?
  • Double Rainbows stretched all across the sky are indisputable proof of God’s existence and must be met with the prayer “Whoa man! Wow! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa ho ho oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Woo! Oh wow! Woo! Yeah! Oh ho ho! Oh my god!” True or False?
  • Are rainbows bent or straight?

Gay rights activist Hugh Wentworth has responded with the statement, “Getting so upset over the whole marriage equality thing and the whole rainbow as a gay symbol thing seems a bit… well… gay.”
