Labor’s Tanya Plibersek has followed up her call for all School Children to pledge allegiance to Australia with plans for Labor, should they win the next election, to provide every Australian teenager with an Australian flag cape.
“Labor has looked at the last election results and we realised that the public didn’t think we were patriotic enough,” said the Member for Sydney as she sat down to have a tattoo of the Southern Cross put on her back. “There is nothing wrong with loving your Country, and what better way to express your love than by wearing the flag as a cape or on your boardies or thongs.”
“For too long we have been lectured to by inner city elites on what we should wear and who we should riot against.”
When asked why all of a sudden this is a priority for Labor and what she would say to Aboriginal people who may feel differently to her sense of patriotism, the Member for Sydney said: ”We will not discriminate, Aboriginal teenagers will be issued with a flag cape as well.”
”Now before I go if you could join me on the count of three. One, two, three Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!……..”
