Australian Bookmakers have released the odds for next year’s Australian of the year award with almost all of them installing currently imprisoned Cardinal, George Pell as an unbackable favourite to win the award.
“It may sound like a long shot what with the Cardinal currently being imprisoned but as we’ve seen this year, the committee who decides the awards do have a soft spot for pedophile apologists,” said an anonymous bookmaker. ”I mean have you seen the interview that Bettina Arndt did with that convicted pedophile?”
”They were cracking jokes about it, unbelieveable.”
Cardinal Pell’s last ditch appeal will be heard by the High Court in the first half of this year.
However News Corp ‘Columnist’ Andrew Bolt believes it is a mere formality that the Cardinal will be acquitted as he himself (Bolt) has investigated the case and knows more than any Lawyer, Judge or Jury.
It is tipped that should the Cardinal be named Australian of the Year he will use his reign to campaign for children’s rights (sic).
