NSW-based Village People covers band The Macho Men have been devastated this week, after the NSW Government implemented a ban on all construction workers.
”Mate, this is just devastating,” said the group’s Policeman. ”Already we have lost so much work with the ban on live shows and now, just as we’re starting to get a few corporate Zoom gigs they take out our Construction Worker.”
”Heaven and earth is moved to get our athletes to Tokyo but they won’t do a thing for the music or arts community.”
When reached for comment on the latest set back to the arts community, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said: ”The arts just need to learn to cope. After all. we are all in this together.”
”Don’t they know how hard other industries have it? I mean, poor Gerry Harvey isn’t even getting any Job Keeper revenue right now.”
”Maybe we could redirect some arts funding to Gerry. Or better yet, maybe artists and muso’s can donate their time to helping clean and tidy Gerry’s stores.”
”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to Bondi to make sure people are social distancing and to also grab a coffee. Have you seen my mask?”
