Abbott Calls On Albo To Do The Right Thing And Knight The English Cricket Team

Former Australian Prime Minister (yep, really) Tony Abbott has called upon Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to do the right thing, in light of Australia retaining the Ashes via a draw, and knight the English cricket team.

”I know a win in sports is good, but we must win well,” said the former PM. ”Sure, we did win the first two tests, you bet we did, however, I think we can all agree that we need to acknowledge the Motherland.”

‘”So, Albo, let’s put our differences aside and knight the English cricket team.”

When asked why he believed that an archaic honours system involving knights and dames was relevant, the former PM said: ”Great people of English origin who have a link to Australia deserve to be recognised.”

”It’s all well and good for us to have a welcome to country ceremony at all events, why not a knights and dames jousting competition as well.”

”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have my weekly catch up with Peter Dutton to attend. Always a good chat where we look over the weeks events and figure out different ways to say no to them.”
