Australian Opposition leader, Peter Dutton, has been seen on the campaign trail with a spring in his step, following news overnight that his idol, President Trump, took inspiration from him and performed a policy backflip over imposing tariffs on the World.
”Peter hasn’t had a great campaign thus far but with the news overnight of Trump’s backflip that has really lifted Pete up,” said a Coalition Spokesperson. ”Pete sees it as Trump following his lead after Peter backflipped last week on his anti-working from home policy.”
”Who knows, maybe this will inspire Pete to do more backflips, did someone say nuclear?”
When asked how the Opposition leader planned to get his faltering campaign back on track, the Coalition Spokesperson said: ”At some stage Albo will slip up and when he does we will get out mates in the media to rain down upon him hell, fire and brimstone.”
”Already we have teams of photoshoppers on stand-by, ready to go.”
”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go and stalk the PM’s dog Toto to see if I can get some dirt on him.”
