Sussan Ley, Angus Taylor and the other bloke, Dave or Dan, have all thrown their hats in to the ring to challenge for the Liberal leadership. The vacancy arises after former leader, Peter Dutton, was comprehensively thrashed at the last election.
”Ah, look, whoever wins doesn’t really matter in the long run, I mean we’re not going to win the next election,” said a Liberal party Insider. ”Give it to Sussan, she can do some tidying up, then leave it in good shape till Andrew Hastie is ready to step up.”
”May as well be Sussan, I mean could you imagine Angus? He’d promise top release his numbers for the challenge a couple of weeks afterward.”
When asked what it will take for the party to be able to successfully challenge Labor at the next election, the Liberal insider said: ”A miracle, no wait we had one of those with ScoMo.”
”Look we need to get back to basics and listen to what Gina wants.”
”None of this shift to the left or the sensible centre, we need to follow the money.”
”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m due on the Bolt Report tonight, need to go and find something to be angry about.”
