Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has suffered a further blow to his leadership, following news that tasmanian senator Eric Abetz will continue on as a member of the Coalition Government.
The news follows South Australian senator Cory Bernardi’s decision to finally take his bat and ball and go home to play with himself.
Speaking to The (un)Australian senator Abetz whose uncle was a member of the third reich, spoke of his reasoning for staying, saying: “I did think long and hard about really getting behind Cory and giving his party launch a good hard thrust, but in the end I am a Liberal”.
“Admittedly I was a loyal lieutenant to Mr Abbott however until he is returned I will stand right behind Malcolm, now have you seen a knife laying around? I swore I had one on me.”
Prime Minister Turnbull was unavailable for comment as he was busy making friendship bracelets for all remaining members of the coalition.
