Australia’s home ware shops have reported a sudden spike in the sales of potato peelers following Peter Dutton’s leadership challenge.
“We see this a lot in America after a mass shooting where people assume a gun will be banned so they go and stockpile them,” said Manager of Homewares shop When Collanders Collide Ian Breadknife. “With the threat of Peter Dutton as Prime Minister people assume that he will naturally ban potato peelers given his families history.”
When reached for comment on the proposed potato peeler ban Minister Dutton said: “Look ah, I won’t give a firm yes or no but I will say that I do find potato peelers confronting and I don’t wish to see them on the streets or in Parliament house.”
“Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to do some knifing.”
