Low-rating pay-tv channel, Sky News Australia, has been inexplicably chosen to host the first leader’s debate between Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Opposition leader Temu Trump.
Station bosses are hoping that the debate will help the station break their all-time viewing record of 16 viewers.
”What a great opportunity this is to get people other than our immediate family to watch the station,” said a Sky News Executive. ”I mean surely Albo’s friends and family will watch.”
”Dutton might even get a couple of people that he’s holding hostage in his basement to tune in as well.”
When asked why such a niche network was chosen to host the first debate, the Sky News Spokesperson said: ”Who knows, Dutton probably chucked a tanty at the thought of being asked actual questions by real journalists.”
”Anyway, tune in tonight to see what we come up with, rumour has it we’ve set Albo up to sit in a chair that is rigged to deliver electric shocks.”

Y’all understand Sky News is a free to air broadcast channel all over regional Australia, right?

Then that makes it much worse how low they rate.

I’d bet good money Sky News has higher viewer numbers than ABC news in most of regional Australia. Presuming that the self-selected FTA ratings households provide a representative picture of what people actually watch, is a dangerously self-soothing echo chamber tendency.
