Australia’s latest favourite laughingstock, the National party, have updated their relationship status to ”it’s complicated” after their on again, off again relationship with the Liberal party appears to be maybe on again.

”Look, it’s complicated, we do still love the same things, like Coal and Gina, but we just want a bit of freedom to explore what else is out there, like nuclear or no net zero,” said a Nationals Spokesperson. ”Sussan needs to back off and let us live a little.”

”Besides, she knows we’ve wandered a bit in the past, but we always come back.”

When asked why the public should get behind the Coalition given their patchy relationship, the Nationals Spokesperson said: ”We know what the people want, they want nuclear, coal and Gina Rinehart for Australian of the year.”

”Sure they didn’t vote for any of that, but we know deep down they secretly want it.”

”Now, if you’ll excuse me, Barnaby Joyce is going to be giving the party a lecture on how to woo the swingers.”

”I assume he means swinging voters.”
