Former deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce has used his appearance on the ABC’s Q&A program to launch his campaign to be returned to the Prime Minister’s cabinet as the minister for home affairs.

”Peter Dutton is a top bloke and a great minister however when it comes to home affairs he doesn’t hold a candle to me,” said the Member for New England. ”Don’t believe my expertise in home affairs, then go and ask my wife or mistress.”

”Heck, I’m so good I could handle both home affairs and foreign affairs at the same time.”

When asked why he was so desperate to get back in to the cabinet, Barnaby Joyce said: ”Raising one family is not cheap, raising two is bloody expensive!”

”But, it’s not just about the cash. As minister for home affairs I could protect the little guy and his mistress from the prying eyes of the media.”

”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to do some research into affairs.”
