Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has used his brief meeting with Chinese Premier Li to pass him a mixtape that he made especially for Chinese Prime Minister Xi Jinping. It is hoped the tape will mend relations between the two countries.
”We’ve tried going through diplomatic channels to no avail so I thought let’s try a different approach,” said Prime Minister Albo. ”Mix tapes have worked well for me in the past, especially with the ladies, so why not a Chinese Prime Minister?”
”Nothing a little You Am I, The Saints and Regurgitator can’t do to mend a relationship.”
When asked if he really thought that a mix tape would lead to a meeting, the Prime Minister responded: ”More chance of this working than a Hillsong cd or a trip to Engadine Maccas.”
”Anyway if it doesn’t work no harm done, but if it does imagine the opportunities for Aussie bands to tour China.”
”I reckon most Aussies would love a recording of Powderfinger live from Shanghai.”
”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to check out a few Balinese record stores with the Vietnamese Prime Minister, he’s a huge Jebediah fan you know,.”
