The Opposition’s leading proponent of numerology, Sussan Ley, is speculated to this week be considering mounting a challenge to leader Peter Dutton, following the weekends dire polling results for the Coalition.
”We thought with the media going to town and attacking Albo on everything from the budget to his investment property that we’d get a bump,” said a Coalition insider. ”But, geez, Dutton is going backwards.”
”And what else have we got to put out there, the location of nuclear power plants, we’re screwed.”
When asked why the party felt that such a divisive figure as Peter Dutton would in any way be electable, the Coalition insider said: ”Well he did try to smile once, we thought maybe that might help things.”
”Anyway, we’ll just have to go harder at Albo and get Speersy and the ABC to pull their finger out and start going after him.”
”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to tour some ALP electorates, to see which ones will best suit a nuclear reactor.”
