Peter Dutton’s plan to alleviate the cost of living crisis by allowing businesses to ‘write-off’ long lunches has caused chaos amongst the Coalition, after the decision was made to exclude booze from being written off.
”Bloody Dutton needs to get out in the real World and see how business is actually done,” shouted a highly agitated Barnaby Joyce. ”Does he think people sit and eat sandwiches and just talk?”
”Of course they bloody don’t, they order a dozen oysters and a couple of bottles of wine to match then chew the fat and press the flesh, so to speak.”
When asked if the Coalition seriously believed that this policy would do anything to alleviate the cost of living crisis, Barnaby Joyce said: ”Until we get real and allow booze to be written off then it will do nothing.”
”I mean come on, who doesn’t have a bottle or two with lunch?”
”Even Albo would be with me on this one, maybe I need to chat with him, don’t suppose you know where the nearest bottle-o is? Need to pick up a bit of dutch courage.”
