Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott has been telling people all week of his excitement at being asked to attend Malcolm Turnbull’s surprise 30th to be held Sunday night in Canberra.
“I’m not the most popular person in the party so when I was asked to attend the event I was taken aback,” said the former Prime Minister. “And when they told me that it was a celebration for Malcolm’s 30th well you could have knocked me over with a feather. Of course the feather would have to have been powered by coal to knock me over.”
When pressed on whether he would bring a gift to Mr Turnbull for his 30h, Mr Abbott replied: “Of course. I am thinking about maybe a knife or a boot. Something that will leave my mark on him.”
The Turnbull 30th is a highly anticipated event on the Canberra calendar and is expected to last well into next week.
