Former deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce took some time out from collecting discarded cans to tell the Government that the best way to stimulate the economy is by increasing the family benefit payments.
“Look if there’s one thing I know it’s how to stimulate things,” said Barnaby Joyce. ”And let me tell you families are doing it tough.”
”I mean how are ordinary everyday families supposed to survive on a $200K per year backbenchers salary?”
When asked what else he would like the Government to do to stimulate the economy, Mr Joyce said: “You know what I’m sick of the Government being in my life.”
”What they need to do is step back and bloody increase the family benefits payments. Especially to those doing it tough trying to support two or more families.”
”Now if you”ll excuse me I’m off to chat to my old mate Llew O’Brien I hear he has employed a new staffer who’s described as a good sort in his office.”
