Prime Minister Scotty from marketing has pledged that his Government will invest millions in building mangers on all major highways in Australia to ensure that all women have the opportunity to give birth in the same manner as Mary did with Jesus.
”My Government is always there for the ladies of this great country,” said Prime Minister Scotty. ”I’m sure most of them could think of nothing better than following in the footsteps of Mary and giving birth in a manger.”
”Of course not all mangers will be exactly like Mary’s some in the more marginal electorates will be a bit more upmarket and more resemble a hospital than say a manger.”
When asked why he wouldn’t just build more hospitals rather than mangers, the Prime Minister said: ”Hospitals cost a lot of money, mangers don’t.”
“And to those complaining about mangers I say you are in danger of breaching our soon to be released religious discrimination act.”
“As you know a manger was good enough for Jesus, do people really think they’re better than Jesus?”
”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to scout some locations to build a manger in Engadine, maybe near the McDonalds.”
