Nationals back bencher and aspiring Minister for Home Affairs Barnaby Joyce has called on the Government, of which he is a part of, to work harder to make sure that more women are working under him.
”I have been reflecting recently on where we are at in politics and as I look around Parliament house, I realise that there just aren’t enough women about the place,” said the Member for New England. ”We need fresh blood, women who are ready to roll up their sleeves and get dirty.”
”I am willing to take any aspirational young women under my wing and give them the opportunity to work under me.”
When asked why he all of a sudden had an interest in women in politics, the member for New England said: ”I’ve always had an eye for the ladies and what I saw on the ABC the other night really disturbed me.”
”I mean Porter and Tudge out on the town and no invite for Barnaby?”
”Those guys need to learn a think or two about loyalty. I would have shut up, why didn’t they invite me out to party with their staffers.”
