Opposition leader (for now) Peter Dutton has told colleagues that it’s not a lie if the press don’t question you on it.

”Pete has been getting a bit loose with the truth over the last couple of weeks,” said a Coalition colleague. ”But, to his credit none of the journo’s have called him out on it.”

”Heck, the ABC drongoes are too scared to even look in his direction.”

When asked how they expected to win an election with a leader who habitually lies, the Coalition colleague said: ”Gee, not like we’ve done it before with Abbott, Howard, ScoMo.”

”I think we’ll mange, besides we have an awesome megaphone in the form of Newscorp.”

”And as for the ABC they are so terrified of us that we can say jump and they’ll say how high.”
