NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has ordered all citizens to self-isolate at their local RSL club and to bring along cash to spend on the pokies whilst they are there.
“We have to do everything we can to stop the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) from spreading,” said the NSW Premier. “Therefore I believe the best thing for the State is for everybody to self-isolate at their local RSL or pokies den.”
“That way people are not alone and if they pump their cash through the machines the State does not lose out.”
When asked whether locking people into a confined space to gamble defeated the whole concept of social-isolation, the Premier said: “Nonsense, RSL’s are well ventilated and those machines are disinfected at least once a week.”
“Besides, I will also ensure that every RSL and pokies den in NSW is staffed with doctors, nurses and paramedics.”
“Even if I have to shut down hospitals to do so.”
