Alleged Member of Parliament Christian Porter has updated the Parliamentary Register of Interests to declare that the costs of his recent defamation case against the ABC ”fell off the back of a truck.”
”What can I say? I was walking around one afternoon, when I saw something fall off the back of a truck,” said the Former Attorney General. ”Lo and behold, when I approached it, wouldn’t you know, it was an entire legal team that specialises in dealing with defamation suits.”
”I tried to find the owner but, as you know – finders keepers.”
When asked why he won’t just tell the Australian public who funded his case, the alleged Member for Pearce said: ”I told you – it fell off the back of a truck.”
”Are you accusing me of lying?”
”Don’t make me ring around a couple of anonymous donors to get them to chuck in some coin so I can sue you as well!”
”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I just saw ScoMo’s polling numbers and I need to start doing the numbers. Who knows? Maybe the Prime Ministership might just fall off the back of a truck as well!”
