Prime Minister for Sydney (and occasionally the rest of the country) Scott Morrison has urged Melbournians to dig deep and give generously to the people locked down in NSW. In a statement today, he announced that the government is currently looking at setting up a Go Fund Me account for the Covid-ridden state.
”Australians are a generous people, especially when the chips are down,” said the Prime Minister. ”To those people in Melbourne, I ask you to maybe skip tomorrow’s coffee or put off getting the beard trimmed this week, and instead send your cash to NSW.”
”After all – we’re all in this together.”
When asked why he was appearing to favour NSW over the rest of Australia, the Prime Minister said: ”I reject the premise of the question.”
”It’s just at the moment we have a state in lockdown that has many, many marginal seats.”
”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to get on the blower to little Joshie Frydenburg and tell him to get out onto the streets of Toorak and shake the can for Mosman.”
