Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce is to be rebranded Barnabus in an effort to appeal to inner city voters at the next election.

”Scotty, err, sorry, ScoMo has seen that Barnaby doesn’t poll well with the inner city voters,” said a Government Insider. ”Normally this wouldn’t bother us as let’s face it the inner city is usually just a bunch of cashed up trendies who vote for the Greens to feel better about themselves.”

”However, the inner city is now stretching out to the suburbs and beyond.”

When asked whether anything else would change other than Barnaby Joyce’s name, the Government Insider said: ”Whilst he’s been in lockdown Barnaby has been growing out his hair and not shaving.”

”Hopefully we can shape his hair into a man bun and craft his facial hair into some sort or weird goatee or van dyke.”

”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go and steal and old man’s clothes so Barnaby can look fashionable.”
