With news yesterday of Australia’s submarine purchase speculation is now mounting on where they will be housed, with Alice Springs firming as a likely location despite currently being land locked.
”At this stage Alice Springs is indeed inaccessible by boat or submarine,” said military strategist Major Boner. ”However, if those egg headed scientists are proven right then the melting of the polar ice caps will make it a lovely place to base the subs.”
”Who knows, maybe we could even dock them next to Uluru.”
When asked whether it was wise to spend billions and billions on submarines given the other problems facing the Nation, Major Boner said: ”If you ask me we should be spending more.”
”Kids don’t need school they need boot camp.”
”Send the education budget to the military we will sort out the Nation’s youth. Same with the environment.”
”Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go and source a solid gold periscope for our new subs.”
