Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott, famous for once knighting a Prince, has joined Minister for Immigration Peter Dutton in calling for Australia’s rugby union team the Wallabies to be renamed ‘the All Whites.’
“I believe a lot of Australians would feel comforted if next time we faced the all conquering All Blacks we suited up as the All Whites,” said Mr Abbott. “It would be a good way to honour our countries rich white heritage.
“Because if we don’t honour our past we are doomed to see it white washed or should I say black washed over.”
When asked why he supported the All Whites name, Minister Dutton replied: “It opens up a lot of opportunities for corporate sponsorship. I’m sure White King cleaning goods would like to jump on board.
“Also, having our nation’s rugby team named the All Whites will make our new recruits, I mean asylum seekers from South Africa feel at home in the 1980s, I mean Australia.”
